Glues, Scissors & Markers for the Smowo Mega Craft Sets
Glue, cut and create: our accessory guide helps you get crafting with the Mega Craft Starter Set and the 2000-piece Mega Craft Set.
From little pom-pom animals and colourful wooden figures to imaginative felt creations, our Mega Craft Sets are full of possibilities. Here you’ll find suitable glues, scissors and markers for both boxes. Choose your accessories to suit your project and the hand your child uses for cutting.
For our Mega Craft Sets
The recommendations on this page apply to both the Starter Set and the 2000-piece set. Quantities, materials and craft projects vary between the two, so use the contents and craft booklet in your own box to prepare.

Lay out the materials for your chosen project and check which accessories you already have at home. You don’t need both recommendations in every category – simply choose the option that suits you.
Choosing the right glue
Both sets let you combine different materials. The right glue depends on the surfaces you want to join. For smooth decorations and unfamiliar material combinations, test the bond on a single piece first.
Pritt Alleskleber
This solvent-free liquid glue is our first choice for a shared afternoon of crafting. It dries clear and works for many everyday craft projects.
Small dots of glue are often enough: press the pieces together gently and leave your creation to dry undisturbed.
UHU Alleskleber Kraft
This clear, strong adhesive is suitable for materials including wood, felt, textiles, cardboard and paper. It can be useful for projects from either box where an adult handles the gluing.
For use by adults: This adhesive contains solvents. Work in a well-ventilated area and follow the instructions for use. Not suitable for polystyrene foam, PE or PP; test compatibility with craft foam first.
Cutting made easy
Choose scissors to suit your child’s cutting hand and skill level, whichever craft box you are using. These models are options for cutting additional paper and cardboard.
Pelikan griffix for right-handed children
This blue, right-handed model has a rounded tip and is 14 cm long. It is suitable for paper, cardboard and similar materials. The griffix face helps children position their hand correctly.
A suitable choice for children who cut with their right hand.
STAEDTLER Noris Club for left-handed children
For children who cut with their left hand, we recommend the Noris Club left-handed scissors. When ordering, make sure you select the version clearly marked as left-handed.
Choose according to the hand your child cuts with, rather than the colour of the scissors.
Firm felt can be difficult for children to cut; an adult can help with suitable scissors. Pipe cleaners contain wire: any trimming should be done by an adult using an appropriate tool.
Add colour to your craft ideas
Give wooden sticks faces or decorate extra cardboard shapes with colourful patterns. Decorative markers let you personalise projects from either set. Try them on a scrap piece first.
Giotto Decor Materials
These water-based fibre-tip markers can be used on materials including wood and cardboard, and provide coverage even on darker surfaces. The colour is permanent on porous materials; on smooth surfaces, it can be removed with a damp cloth.
Useful for colourful areas, faces and patterns. Protect clothing, as the markers may leave stains on fabric.
Marabu Deco Painter Basic
The Deco Painter Basic set lets you add your own decorations and patterns to your craft creations.
Check the packaging to make sure the markers are suitable for your chosen surface, and follow the instructions for preparing and using them.
Tips for both craft boxes
- Arrange first, glue later: Place felt, pom-poms and decorations loosely before gluing. This gives you time to change the colours and shapes.
- Check for an adhesive backing: For self-adhesive pieces, peel off the protective backing and press them onto a clean, dry surface. Use a suitable glue for pieces without an adhesive backing.
- Add a little sparkle: Attach sequins, rhinestones and buttons with small dots of glue. Leave your creations flat to dry.
- Use the colours in your box: Pom-poms and felt are already colourful. Choose combinations that suit your design.
Get started with the right craft booklet
Both Mega Craft Sets come with instructions. Each booklet contains projects for its own box, so use the booklet included with your set.
In the Mega Craft Starter Set
The included craft booklet guides you through the Starter Set projects step by step. Choose a design and lay out the materials you need from the turquoise box.
In the 2000-piece Mega Craft Set
The booklet in the purple box contains step-by-step projects for this set. Choose an idea together and gather the materials listed in the instructions.
Prefer to create your own designs? Combine the materials in your box however you like. A different face, a new colour combination or a few extra sparkles will make each creation your own.
Enjoy crafting together
Follow the age recommendations and instructions for your set and accessories. Supervise children when cutting and gluing; small parts must not be put in the mouth. Use a protective mat to keep your table clean.
